About the position

The Dietary Services Manager at First Atlantic Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the food service operations within the nursing and assisted living facility. This role involves managing dietary staff, ensuring the delivery of nutritious and appealing meals, and collaborating with a Licensed Dietitian. The manager will also handle budgeting, staff training, and compliance with federal and state standards, all while maintaining a high-quality resident experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage food service operations in conjunction with a Licensed Dietitian.
• Oversee dietary staff to ensure meals are attractive, tasteful, and nutritious.
• Conduct fiscal operations including budgeting and financial reporting.
• Train staff according to federal and state standards.
• Collaborate with vendors, families, and staff in a professional manner.
• Plan and implement departmental programs, goals, and policies.
• Maintain computerized record management systems for data processing.
• Inspect facilities and recommend modifications as needed.
• Work with leadership to establish staffing levels based on budget.
• Collaborate on menu planning with the Licensed Dietitian.
• Ensure residents receive meals according to their therapeutic diets.
• Maintain inventory and food supplies according to menu cycles and disaster plans.
• Evaluate and maintain dietary department equipment.
• Attend professional meetings and maintain awareness of advances in dietary services.

Requirements

• Two to four years of related food service and leadership experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including personal computers and electronic medical records.
• Strong leadership skills to develop a high-quality resident experience.
• Analytical skills to turn data into actionable insights.
