About the position

The Dietary Supplements - Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth in the Northeast Territory of the United States. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and managing existing accounts within the dietary supplements sector. The position requires a strong understanding of the dietary supplement industry and a focus on value-added selling of quality and safety services offered by Merieux Nutrisciences.

Responsibilities

  • Create a territory sales strategy to attain new Premier opportunities through prospecting and leveraging your network.
  • Identify and grow existing accounts within assigned territory leveraging total package selling.
  • Work with Business Unit and sales leaders to define and execute sales strategy for the Dietary Supplements segment.
  • Lead onboarding and introduction of appropriate teams for acquired business.
  • Negotiate prices, increases, and renewals with assigned accounts.
  • Meet established quota numbers and performance expectations set with SVP Sales & Commercial Operations.
  • Follow sales support processes and complete expected documentation such as Salesforce and call reports.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to sales leaders on individual sales KPIs and growth.
  • Develop and maintain professional selling skills and technical expertise relating to safety and quality programs.
  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the Dietary Supplement testing industry.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in sales.
  • Strong knowledge of the Dietary Supplement industry, including quality testing and microbiology.
  • Familiarity with technical sales techniques and client service experience.
  • General knowledge of personal computer operation for report development and client assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous related sales experience in the dietary supplement industry.
  • Knowledge of Sandler/SPIN selling process.
