About the position

The Dietician at National Health Care Associates will play a crucial role in evaluating the nutritional status of residents and implementing tailored nutrition care plans. This part-time position involves collaboration with culinary teams to ensure the provision of balanced meals that promote health and vitality among residents. The role is centered around making a meaningful impact on the lives of aging individuals and their families through nutrition.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of individualized nutrition care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance to federal, state and local regulations
  • Assist food service director in managing costs, overseeing food preparation and service, and developing department staffing plans
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on nutritional requirements and healthy eating habits
  • Monitor and evaluate residents' nutritional status and make necessary adjustments to care plans

Requirements

  • Valid state license or license eligibility
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Nutrition or related field
  • Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Previous experience in long-term care setting preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
  • Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
