About the position

The Dietician at Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in evaluating the nutritional status of residents and implementing tailored nutrition care plans. This position involves collaboration with culinary teams and interdisciplinary staff to ensure that residents receive balanced meals that promote their health and well-being. The Dietician will also educate residents and their families about nutritional needs and healthy eating habits, making a significant impact on the lives of aging individuals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents
• Develop and ensure the implementation of individualized nutrition care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance to federal, state and local regulations
• Assist food service director in managing costs, overseeing food preparation and service, and developing department staffing plans
• Educate residents, families, and staff on nutritional requirements and healthy eating habits
• Monitor and evaluate residents' nutritional status and make necessary adjustments to care plans

Requirements

• Valid state license or license eligibility
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Nutrition or related field
• Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Previous experience in long-term care setting preferred
• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
• Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
