About the position
The Clinical Dietitian at Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive appropriate nutritional care. This part-time position involves consulting with patients, families, and healthcare staff to assess dietary needs and make tailored nutritional recommendations. The dietitian will work within a community-focused healthcare environment, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the local population.
Responsibilities
- Ensure best practice regarding patient nutritional needs by referencing the Nutritional Care Manual.
- Complete patient nutritional assessments.
- Establish plans of care for patients' nutritional requirements.
- Counsel patients and family members regarding nutritional requirements using appropriate instructional methods.
- Document patient assessments and teaching.
- Calculate calorie counts and medically appropriate energy needs.
- Conduct one-on-one educational visits in an outpatient setting.
Requirements
- Must be a registered dietitian licensed in the state of Ohio.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and products.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills and technical skills.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics preferred.
- Dietitian, LD certification preferred.
