About the position

Valor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Part-time Dietitian to join their team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in McMinnville, TN. The role focuses on providing quality healthcare to veterans, emphasizing nutrition education and diet therapy to support patients with various medical conditions. The Dietitian will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop patient care plans and ensure excellent clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients on food selection to maintain and promote health and prevent illness.
  • Plan appropriate diets and menus for individuals whose medical conditions can be treated or controlled using diet therapy.
  • Conduct nutrition education classes.
  • Serve as a community resource to patients.
  • Create in-house nutrition education materials for staff and patients.
  • Provide information and education to staff members using nutrition education materials or in-service meetings.
  • Monitor and respond to phone and e-mail messages promptly.
  • Input all patients' information into VISTA/CPRS.
  • Complete any and all clinical reminders due at the time of each patient visit.
  • Assist in co-managed care collaboration with non-VA providers and facilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of veterans' data and information.
  • Comply with all VA and company training requirements.
  • Fulfill compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and other related items.
  • Achieve excellent clinical outcomes through specified VA guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to veterans and their families, both in person and over the phone.
  • Participate in the clinic's outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from an accredited school; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of employment or any U.S. state or territory as per VA requirements.
  • Two years' experience with adult patients preferred.
  • Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
