The Digital and Social Media Manager will be a key member of the driven, forward-thinking Marketing team at The Salvation Army. This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about digital marketing and social media, and who is committed to furthering the mission of The Salvation Army through innovative online strategies. The Manager will be responsible for developing, executing, and tracking online marketing strategies that drive engagement and online donations. This will involve collaborating closely with the Marketing Director and other marketing and development staff to create effective customer acquisition strategies, email marketing campaigns, social media strategies, and digital advertising buys. The activities undertaken will be aligned with key performance metrics to ensure that customer engagement is maximized and that marketing plans are coordinated effectively. The Manager will also be tasked with creating strategic promotional campaigns that maintain a consistent brand voice and leverage marketing automation technology. In this role, the Digital and Social Media Manager will engage in supportive, constructive, and genuine work to forward the mission of The Salvation Army. The position requires a strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, as well as a deep understanding of current SEO/SEM practices. The Manager will be expected to remain current in a constantly changing industry and frequently recommend new areas of growth and opportunity. Good written communication skills, including content writing and technical writing, are essential. The Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by fostering good relationships with co-workers and supervisors, resolving conflicts professionally, and treating every client, donor, and colleague with respect and dignity. The Digital and Social Media Manager will also oversee general electronic communications, managing the calendar and developing all online campaigns for email marketing, fundraising, advertising, and outreach. This includes building email lists in coordination with donor databases and volunteer management software, creating and sending email fundraising appeals, and tracking their performance. Additionally, the Manager will help identify keyword and audience targets for Search Engine and Social Media Advertising, establish and monitor effective Pay-Per-Click ad campaigns, and execute and monitor technical SEO strategies on an ongoing basis. The role will also involve developing a monthly social media marketing calendar, managing multiple social media platforms, and providing onsite assistance at events for social media posting and photography.
