About the position

The Center for Global Development (CGD) is seeking a Digital and Social Media Manager who will play a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's digital presence and engagement strategies. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial strategist and creative storyteller who is passionate about CGD's mission to reduce global poverty and improve lives through innovative economic research. The successful candidate will understand the power of digital media to drive change and will be committed to using data to reach and engage the right audiences effectively. In this role, the Digital and Social Media Manager will be responsible for championing CGD's cross-channel promotional strategies. This includes crafting incentive initiatives, assisting with email marketing efforts, and running search ad campaigns. The Manager will work closely with the digital team to establish goals and key performance indicators that will evaluate and evolve the organization's digital efforts, thereby advancing CGD's growing digital marketing program. The position requires a tech-savvy self-starter who is comfortable navigating the complexities of digital communication in a fast-paced environment. The Manager will also coordinate management tasks for the Global Health Policy Program, collaborating with colleagues in CGD's London office. This includes organizing the global health team's workflow, overseeing project deliverables, managing consultant and sub-grant contracting processes, tracking program expenditures, and preparing grant reports and funding proposals. Additionally, the role involves planning and organizing internal meetings and managing logistics for public and private events, roundtables, and workshops. The candidate will perform basic research tasks for ongoing global health projects, contributing to literature reviews and preparing materials for CGD publications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate management tasks of the Global Health Policy Program in collaboration with colleagues based in CGD's London office.
  • Organize and coordinate the global health team's workflow.
  • Oversee and monitor the status of ongoing project deliverables.
  • Manage consultant and sub-grant contracting processes.
  • Track program expenditures and prepare grant reports and new funding proposals.
  • Plan and organize internal meetings in collaboration with various internal teams.
  • Manage logistics for all aspects of public and private events, roundtables, and workshops.
  • Perform basic day-to-day research tasks for ongoing global health projects, including literature reviews and background research for CGD publications.
  • Create presentations, prepare figures and tables, and perform other duties as necessary in support of the Global Health Policy Program.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field required.
  • 1-2 years professional experience in international development and/or global health is preferred but not required.
  • Superb organizational skills and attention to detail is a necessity.
  • Ability to advance tasks and projects with hands-off supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communications and writing skills in English.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Poise and can-do attitude.
  • Comfort working as an individual, with small groups, and with senior staff.
  • Ability to work on projects spanning different time zones and cultural contexts.
