About the position

The Digital Application and eCommerce Developer at Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. is a leadership role focused on driving the company's digital transformation through the development and implementation of cloud-based eCommerce solutions. This position requires a technical expert with a strong background in headless eCommerce engines, payment gateways, and microservice architecture. The developer will oversee the migration of legacy systems to the cloud, ensuring stable eCommerce operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly in digital marketing, to shape system design and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of cloud transformation strategy and plan with a cloud-first approach.
• Develop cloud frameworks, methods, and tools in alignment with overall architecture.
• Manage stability issues and proactively identify negative trends within the technology ecosystem.
• Develop scalable and stable architecture solutions for eCommerce operations.
• Stay updated on eCommerce, technology, and AI industry trends to enhance digital solutions.
• Architect and mentor cross-functional teams supporting Hamilton Beach Brands websites.
• Develop transition roadmaps and architecture patterns for migrating legacy systems to cloud architectures.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in solution architecture and secure development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
• 7 or more years of experience in IT.
• 3-7 years of experience in headless user interface development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, REST, and GraphQL APIs.
• 3-7 years of related experience in Bootstrap, Angular JS, REACT, NoSQL DB, and Agile Software Development Methodology.
• 1-3 years of prior experience implementing eCommerce tools and microservices based on commerce platforms.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP, and knowledge of server technologies including Linux, Apache, Node.js, Nginx, Ruby on Rails.
• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Effective communication skills to understand business requirements and translate them into sustainable designs.
