About the position

The Atelier School of Art is seeking a passionate and skilled Digital Art Teacher to join our innovative and creative team. This part-time position will primarily support our main Digital Art instructor while also taking the lead in introducing new classes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Procreate, with essential knowledge of Animation in Procreate Dreams. Initially, the hours will be minimal, but as we expand our class offerings, the hours will gradually increase. This role is not just about teaching; it’s about inspiring students and fostering a love for digital art in a relaxed and supportive environment. As the lead instructor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and goals. You will set the tone for the course and instruct students in a variety of art techniques, including drawing, painting, and sculpture, utilizing various digital art software. Collaboration with fellow educators and staff is essential to seamlessly integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons. You will also curate and showcase student artwork for exhibitions and presentations, demonstrating your leadership in the field. In this role, you will utilize a variety of digital art software and multimedia tools to enrich art instruction, showcasing your expertise as the course leader. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and goals.
  • Instruct students in a range of art techniques, including drawing, painting, and sculpture, using various digital art software.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons.
  • Curate and showcase student artwork for exhibitions and presentations.
  • Utilize a variety of digital art software and multimedia tools to enrich art instruction.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in multiple digital art software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, Procreate Dreams, Clip Studio Paint, and others.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service.
  • A profound understanding of diverse art techniques and mediums, including Animation and coding.
  • Proven track record of working with students across different age groups and skill levels.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in public speaking for presentations and demonstrations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching coding classes focused on fundamental 8-bit game design.
  • Experience in teaching both children and adults.
