About the position

This part-time, temporary position works with the Marketing and Communications team at Bellevue College to assist in preparing the existing digital assets of the college for a Digital Asset Management system. The successful candidate will be expected to work approximately 10 hours per week, with the position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis. There is no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment, which is limited to a maximum of 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months from the original date of hire. This role is designed to support the college's mission of enhancing brand awareness and community engagement through effective management of digital assets. The primary responsibilities include assisting in the curation of existing photo assets, taking inventory, sorting into categories, and cataloging assets with appropriate metadata and taxonomy. The candidate will work closely with the Creative Services Manager to ensure that all digital photography is organized and accessible. This involves applying keywords, controlled vocabulary, and other identifying tags to improve user accessibility, as well as checking filenames and metadata for compliance with current standards. The role is crucial in ensuring that the college's digital assets are well-managed and easily retrievable for various business needs. Responsibilities

  • Assist in curation of existing photo assets.
  • Work with Creative Services Manager to take stock of existing archive of digital photography.
  • Take inventory and sort digital assets into categories.
  • Help to catalog assets with metadata and taxonomy.
  • File assets into digital folders and add descriptors and tagging as provided.
  • Retrieve assets to align with business needs.
  • Apply keywords, controlled vocabulary, categories, and other identifying tags to assets to improve accessibility for users.
  • Check filenames and object models of digitized assets to ensure they can be ingested.
  • Rename files as needed to comply with current file naming standards.
  • Check metadata for correct mappings, required fields, adherence to standards.

Requirements
