About the position

The AVP Software Engineering at Credit One Bank is responsible for leading a development team that designs, integrates, and implements enterprise-level software applications for the Digital Bank. This role involves driving the development team towards efficiency and scalability while mentoring team members and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The AVP will also collaborate with various departments to build trust and facilitate success in achieving organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end software development life cycle including requirement elicitation, building, testing, deploying, and monitoring.
  • Act as the primary contact for business partner teams regarding work prioritization, project sizing, resource allocation, and delivery timelines.
  • Facilitate critical technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders.
  • Possess a deep understanding of business processes and solutions implemented.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges common to large IT organizations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of various software delivery methodologies and their implementation.
  • Work with the Production Management team to resolve production incidents within SLAs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and product teams to build, test, and deploy products.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and quality.
  • Define and document departmental processes and standards.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical leader for the team, helping them grow.
  • Build and manage effective engineering teams, conduct performance reviews, and make compensation decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience leading and developing web and mobile applications using JavaScript and frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Expertise in large-scale enterprise software development best practices and software architecture design.
  • Verifiable experience as a technical leader using JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS/Express, CSS/HTML in a large enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Java, with strong skills in CSS, HTML, and browser developer tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building native mobile applications in iOS with Swift and Objective-C.
  • Experience building applications for financial services.
