About the position

Dakota Supply Group (DSG) is seeking a Digital Catalog & Search Analyst to join our eCommerce team in Plymouth, MN. In this full-time, exempt position, work is typically performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, but may vary according to business needs. As a Digital Catalog & Search Analyst, you will support the growth, productivity, and customer experience on dsgsupply.com and the Mobile App. This position is responsible for managing the products within the website catalog and maintaining the data, along with planning, analyzing, and executing the impacts of that data. A typical day in the life of a Digital Catalog & Search Analyst at DSG includes managing the digital product catalog and content for dsgsupply.com and the mobile app through DSG's MDM/PIM solution, ensuring the representation of the breadth and depth of products available at DSG. You will maintain product content and assets loaded into the DSG PIM and DAM, coordinate with content service providers and suppliers to improve data accuracy, and identify enhanced content opportunities. Ensuring the accuracy of product content through verification of key product attributes, descriptions, and other information areas associated with product content is crucial. You will also collect and maintain necessary digital assets for products, create and maintain facets for the website and mobile app that improve the customer experience, analyze search results, and leverage reporting to modify and adjust associated rules. Additionally, you will evaluate and maintain taxonomy hierarchy for the website and mobile app, provide recommendations for new or changes in standard operating procedures to drive data accuracy and efficiency, and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure catalog assortment representation on the website and mobile app. Regular updates on search results with documentation/reports will be shared with leaders and stakeholders, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze search results and leverage reporting to modify and adjust associated rules.
  • Determine ways to optimize search results on the website and mobile app.
  • Evaluate and maintain taxonomy hierarchy for the website and mobile app.
  • Provide recommendations for new or changes in standard operating procedures to drive data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure catalog assortment representation on the website and mobile app.
  • Provide regular updates on search results with documentation/reports to share with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience in ecommerce, marketing, content development, website search.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional work experience in product content development and management.
  • Experience with digital analytics (Google/Adobe).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, as well as working with PIM and MDM solutions or other product data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of SEO, digital customer experience best practices, and flat file/XML document architecture.
  • Experience supporting increased sales and traffic through online websites related to enhancement of product content.
  • Attention to detail, can-do attitude, and strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP system and website search application.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to listen and capture stakeholder needs and recommend solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Eclipse ERP and/or Optimizely eCommerce platform experience.
  • B2B and/or supply industry experience.
  • Familiarity with product operating model and development (Agile practices).
