About the position

First Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville, OK is seeking a Digital Content Creator (DCC) who will play a vital role in producing relevant and engaging digital content that reflects the church's mission of sharing God's love. The DCC will be responsible for creating a variety of digital content, including photos and graphics, that capture the essence of church activities and events. This content will be used across all digital platforms to promote the church's mission and engage the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling through digital media and a desire to help others experience Jesus through the content they create. The DCC will plan, produce, and create inspiring and informative social media content tailored for various platforms. They will manage and produce all digital communication assets for Sunday worship, ensuring that all content is consistent with the church's brand in terms of style, quality, and tone. The role involves filming and documenting major church activities, seeking out compelling stories that reflect the church's mission. Additionally, the DCC will transform sermons and key moments into shareable digital content, manage the church's website, and assist in creating targeted digital advertising. The position requires a strong understanding of digital media and social media channels, as well as the ability to monitor and analyze the performance of digital content using tools like Google Analytics. The DCC will also develop and manage content for the church's weekly email and monthly bulletin, ensuring that all communications are engaging and informative. This part-time, contract position offers a flexible schedule and requires attendance at church events and functions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce and create inspiration, informative, and engaging social media content tailored for each platform.
  • Manage and produce all Sunday worship digital communication assets for in-person and online use.
  • Film/document all major activities of the church; seek out 'God-stories' and avenues in which those may occur.
  • Ensure all content is on brand and consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice.
  • Transform sermons, quotes, and moments into shareable digital content for the web; add and delete information on the website.
  • Assist in creating digital advertising to target audiences in innovative and cost-effective ways.
  • Plan, shoot, and edit video projects; responsible for filming/documenting announcements, stories, and promos for use in weekend services and digital channels.
  • Optimize existing video content for social media specific platforms.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on the performance of digital channels using tools like Google Analytics; share feedback with stakeholders and use data to inform future activities.
  • Attend church events, meetings, and functions as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage content for the weekly church email and monthly bulletin.

Requirements

  • Loves God and cares about making disciples.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong initiative; able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Comfortable behind or in front of the camera.
  • Efficient with various digital media and social media channels.
  • Understands relevant trends, audience, and ways to reach them.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Excellent oral, written, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Experience in photography and creating/editing images.
  • Experience in video production, including filming, editing, and delivering via channels.
  • Good time management skills; able to manage consecutive project timelines and complete projects on the same day.
  • Strong understanding of content distribution, social media, and analytics platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with AP style and have previous work experience as a content creator, copywriter, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with SEO and understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance, and the tools to monitor, manage, and evaluate them.
  • Completed or seeking a degree in marketing, English, journalism, or a relevant field, or 2 years of relevant digital experience, including design and video.
  • Previous experience managing marketing budgets.
