About the position
The Digital Content Producer at WSFA 12 News is responsible for creating and managing news content across various digital platforms, including social media. This role involves writing and reporting on breaking news, as well as producing high-quality content in news, sports, and entertainment. The position requires collaboration with the newsroom team and may involve weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Produce news content for the station's digital platforms and social media accounts.
- Write and report breaking and developing news stories.
- Generate high-quality news, sports, and entertainment content.
- Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, and anchors in the newsroom.
- Execute and maintain news strategies and goals for competitive local digital content coverage.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with digital and social media for a news organization.
- Strong news writing skills using AP Style for digital platforms.
- Experience with video editing, Photoshop, and social media management.
- Ability to set up video livestreams and manage back-end systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with TikTok and Snapchat.
- A degree in Journalism or English is preferred.
