About the position
The Digital Content Producer at WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, AL, is responsible for creating and managing news content across the station's digital platforms, including the website and social media. This role involves writing and reporting on breaking news, as well as producing high-quality content in news, sports, and entertainment. The position requires collaboration with the newsroom team and may include weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Produce news content for the station's digital platforms, including the website and social media accounts.
- Write and report breaking and developing news stories.
- Generate high-quality news, sports, and entertainment content.
- Work closely with the newsroom team, including producers, reporters, and anchors.
- Maintain news strategies and goals for competitive local digital content coverage.
- Set up video livestreams and manage back-end systems.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with digital and social media for a news organization.
- Strong news writing skills using AP Style for digital platforms.
- Experience with video editing, Photoshop, and social media management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using content management systems and social media platforms.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with technical requirements for video production.
- A degree in Journalism or English is preferred.
