About the position
The Digital Content Strategist at Kamehameha Schools is responsible for executing collaborative digital media projects that enhance Hawaiian cultural and language vibrancy. This role involves the design, creation, and refinement of multimedia products, including videography, graphic design, and educational materials, aimed at engaging the community and supporting the mission of nurturing ‘ōiwi leaders. The strategist will work closely with internal teams and community partners to deliver impactful digital experiences through various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of professional video products for cultural-educational programs.
- Perform graphic design and layout for multimedia works.
- Design and develop content and messaging aligned with project goals.
- Integrate photography, illustration, and audio elements into products.
- Monitor technological trends to enhance multimedia delivery.
- Apply expertise in digital content delivery platforms to reach targeted audiences.
- Monitor social media trends for effective online dissemination.
- Ensure easy access to online content for audiences through various platforms.
- Create and code effective messages for mass communication.
- Develop strategies for increased engagement in digital media.
- Manage virtual platform operations and technical aspects of virtual engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Video Production, Media Arts, or Graphic Design.
- Minimum 4 years of practical experience in video production, graphic design, or virtual engagement.
- Experience in developing multimedia products like video pieces and digital educational materials.
- Training or experience with digital technologies and graphics software.
- Familiarity with marketing and community distribution channels for multimedia products.
- Deep familiarity with efforts to strengthen Hawaiian culture and education.
- Ability to create compelling multimedia content and effective delivery methods.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Planning proficiency for timely product delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, and DHTML; proficiency in JavaScript and PHP.
- Technical knowledge in SEO, accessibility, animation, and mobile development.
