About the position

The Digital Content Writer and SEO Specialist at Cross Catholic Outreach is responsible for leading the organization's digital copy strategy and direction. This role involves writing and producing targeted marketing content that aligns with the ministry's voice and core values, while also ensuring optimal SEO strategies are implemented. The position requires collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team to develop strategic content for various digital platforms, including websites, emails, and blogs, as well as occasional print content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and proofread targeted marketing and storytelling content in various formats.
  • Research and produce strategic marketing content, ensuring brand consistency and quality.
  • Pitch creative themes for marketing campaigns and collaborate with the internal strategy team.
  • Build brand awareness through strategic content for campaigns and fundraising efforts.
  • Communicate the strategic goals behind written content to team members and stakeholders.
  • Implement SEO strategies to enhance online visibility in search results.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to improve content and strategy effectiveness.
  • Contribute to digital strategy development and content planning within the MarComm team.
  • Guide and edit team-produced content to align with digital strategy and SEO tactics.
  • Develop knowledge of the organization's history and programs through active engagement.
  • Stay informed of industry trends in digital communication and marketing.
  • Maintain and improve writer toolkits and resources for productivity.
  • Select photos and materials to enhance written content.
  • Publish content on various digital platforms, including social media and WordPress.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional writing experience, particularly with digital platforms.
  • Experience in writing promotional marketing and fundraising copy.
  • Familiarity with SEO strategy and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of email and social data analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Multimedia Journalism, Marketing, or relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual, preferably Spanish (Proficient).
  • Knowledge of the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
