About the position

The Digital Court Reporter is responsible for capturing audio and video recordings of depositions, ensuring high-quality documentation of legal proceedings. This role involves setting up and operating audio/video equipment, taking notes, and maintaining a professional demeanor in various legal environments. The position requires adaptability to changing schedules and environments, as well as a solid understanding of legal processes and technology.

Responsibilities

• Set up audio/video equipment in a professional manner in various environments.
• Monitor microphone placement for optimal audio capture.
• Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference.
• Adjust white balance and exposure for video recording.
• Ensure appropriate video framing according to legal standards.
• Assist clients with audio, video, and technology issues.
• Track and log key legal events during proceedings.
• Swear in deponents and capture their testimony accurately.
• Maintain professionalism during legal proceedings.

Requirements

• Experience or knowledge of the legal industry.
• 2- or 4-year degree preferred.
• Comfortable with A/V technologies and digital recording.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Experience dealing face-to-face with professional clients.
• Ability to adapt to unexpected circumstances and changing schedules.
• Reliable mode of transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
