About the position

The Digital Engineering Software Architect at BAE Systems is a senior-level role focused on developing and implementing advanced Digital Engineering capabilities to support Space & Mission Systems programs. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and maintain a next-generation Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, transforming the organization into a model-based enterprise. The role emphasizes leadership, innovation, and effective communication within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and third-party software consultants during project planning, requirements development, design, build, test, and maintenance phases.
• Design and interface solutions to work with legacy applications supporting product design and manufacturing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and across the company.
• Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field required.
• 8 or more years of related experience; higher degrees may substitute for experience.
• Experience with Dassault Systems Enovia brand 3DExperience Platform technology.
• Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles.
• Application development experience with JavaScript, Java, and Linux.
• Experience with integrated development environments (Eclipse, Visual Studio).
• Experience with modern architectures and software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps concepts.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in modern C++, Python, SQL, and Perl.
• Development and debugging experience with Apache httpd/Tomcat/TomEE+ servers.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, GitHub, and JIRA.
