About the position

The Associate Director of Enterprise Architecture & Strategy at Raytheon Digital Technology will lead the Digital Technology Architecture Center of Excellence (CoE) team, focusing on maturing and scaling the enterprise architecture practice. This role involves developing strategic roadmaps, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the implementation of enterprise architecture models and standards across the organization. The position requires a strong background in enterprise architecture, technology transformation, and leadership in a complex IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mature the Enterprise Architecture practice by establishing shared principles and strategies.
  • Establish and implement Enterprise Architecture models, artifacts, standards, and roadmaps.
  • Ensure Enterprise Reference Architectures are leveraged across all of RTX.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of enterprise architectures, models, and processes.
  • Lead cross-functional architecture efforts to deliver solutions for RTX customers and business needs.
  • Partner closely with Application, Data, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security architects.
  • Identify business-wide problems and opportunities affecting strategic outcomes through business architecture assessments and models.
  • Mentor and coach architects to ensure successful implementation of IT systems.
  • Consult with senior-level executives and business/technology leaders to influence complex IT environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in leading and advancing the maturity of Enterprise Architecture teams.
  • Experience architecting large technology transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Leading Enterprise Architecture teams in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise reference architectures.
  • TOGAF trained or certified with experience using the Architecture Development Method framework.
  • Experience with formal architecture modeling tools like UML, BPMN, SysML, and ArchiMate.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of enterprise architectures.
  • Experience working in a distributed team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of IT systems.
