About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Digital Experience Monitoring Senior Engineering Manager to lead the observability engineering and automation team. This role focuses on managing the firm's Digital Experience platforms, including monitoring solutions for user experience, cloud applications, and internet sentiment. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to shape the monitoring ecosystem and deliver high-quality services, while also mentoring a team of engineers in a hands-on capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of individual contributor engineers
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
  • Engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineers
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for developing product functional and technical strategies for the domains, as well as the development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps
  • Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities
  • Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk
  • Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes
  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering
  • Adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience
  • 5+ years experience with monitoring tools
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
  • 3+ years of direct people management
  • Experience in Data analysis, Data Import and Data Feeds

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years' experience with design and development of microservices
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • Experience in Capacity Analytics, time series metrics analysis, Telemetry, Monitoring, Observability
  • Experience of modern software development lifecycle, including TDD, CI/CD, Pairing, Build Automations, Automated Testing, Agile Games, Chaos Engineering
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, and product operating model
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis, separation of duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: solutions development
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces
