About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Digital Experience Monitoring Senior Engineering Manager to lead the observability engineering and automation team. This role focuses on managing the firm's Digital Experience platforms, including monitoring solutions for synthetics, end-user experience, cloud-hosted applications, and internet sentiment. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to shape the monitoring ecosystem and deliver high-quality services, while also mentoring a team of engineers in a hands-on capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of individual contributor engineers.
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers.
  • Engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineers.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for developing product functional and technical strategies, as well as actionable short and long-term product roadmaps.
  • Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities.
  • Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk.
  • Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes.
  • Interact directly with third-party vendors and technology service providers.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering.
  • Adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years experience with monitoring tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Experience in Data analysis, Data Import and Data Feeds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • 3+ years' experience with design and development of microservices.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams.
  • Experience in Capacity Analytics, time series metrics analysis, Telemetry, Monitoring, Observability.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, and product operating model.
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis.
