About the position

The Digital Forensic Incident Response Consultant at Verizon is responsible for managing and executing incident response engagements, particularly during high-priority incidents. This role requires in-depth cybersecurity expertise to provide strategic guidance and technical oversight throughout the incident response lifecycle. The consultant will investigate cybersecurity incidents, conduct malware analysis, and address compliance matters while producing high-quality reports and presentations for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute incident response engagements for high-priority incidents.
  • Provide strategic guidance and technical oversight during the incident response lifecycle.
  • Investigate cybersecurity incidents and conduct malware analysis.
  • Address privacy issues and compliance matters related to incidents.
  • Produce high-quality oral and written work products for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate litigation and regulatory action support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in digital forensics, cyber intrusion, or incident response.
  • Experience in incident handling and forensic analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical certifications in incident handling, forensic analysis, or reverse malware engineering.
  • Experience in network infrastructure and communication protocols.
  • Experience in packet capture and TCP/UDP traffic flow analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer exploitation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with current information security solutions and technologies.
  • Experience with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, or similar.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS, and DLP technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud infrastructure (AWS, G-Suite, O365, Azure).
  • Proficiency in command line tools (grep, sed, awk, PowerShell).
  • Strong communication skills for presenting to various audiences.
