Digital Forensics & Cyber Investigation, Department of Cybersecurity - Adjunct Faculty

About the position

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in the Digital Forensics & Cyber Investigation program. This role involves delivering both online and onsite instruction at Fort Meade, MD, focusing on various aspects of digital forensics, cyber investigation, and related legal and ethical considerations. Faculty will engage with adult learners, providing a project-based and hands-on learning experience across multiple specialized courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation, including but not limited to DFCS 605, DFCS 615, DFCS 625, DFCS 635, DFCS 645, DFCS 655, DFCS 660, DFCS 665, DFCS 685, and DFCS 690.
• Engage students through frequent interaction and motivate them to succeed.
• Guide students in collaborative and project-based learning.
• Provide constructive feedback on student work and acknowledge their accomplishments.
• Demonstrate subject-matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.

Requirements

• An advanced degree (Master's or higher, preferably a Doctorate) in Digital Forensics or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in digital forensics or a related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with online teaching platforms and tools.
• Familiarity with current trends and technologies in digital forensics and cyber investigation.
