About the position

The Digital Graphic Designer (Graphic Artist 3) at Oregon Health & Science University is responsible for creating a variety of digital assets that support the institution's missions of healing, teaching, and discovery. This role involves maintaining OHSU's visual identity across digital platforms, including web pages and interactive experiences. The designer will collaborate with various internal and external partners, manage design projects, and ensure adherence to brand standards while producing high-quality digital content.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce required materials for assigned projects.
  • Visually articulate OHSU brand and digital design system standards.
  • Develop standardized and accessible digital templates and components.
  • Compose and produce human-centered digital assets for various channels.
  • Translate data from usability studies into user interface design improvements.
  • Lead creative intake and brainstorming sessions for design projects.
  • Establish project deadlines and manage creative workflow.
  • Provide input for continual improvement of brand standards.
  • Perform brand reviews for new digital applications.

Requirements

  • Six years of graphics arts production experience, with two years in a coordinating role.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Graphics Arts may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with graphic arts coursework may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience developing accessible, component-based digital design systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and project teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience enhancing brand standards in a large organization.
  • Project management or design workflow certifications.
  • Familiarity with Drupal content management system and front-end languages.
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects or motion graphics software.
  • Experience with drag-and-drop digital design tools.
