About the position

The Digital Hardware Design Engineer at Keysight Technologies is responsible for developing, designing, and troubleshooting digital circuits and assemblies for various products. Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and troubleshoot digital circuits and assemblies for Keysight products.
  • Design electronic circuit boards using FPGAs, digitizers, DACs, memory, multiplexers, regulators, ASICs, and other electronic components.
  • Assist in instrument architecture decisions with other engineers.
  • Collaborate with marketing and manufacturing teams.
  • Use simulation, schematic capture, and layout tools for design.
  • Document designs including design goals, core concepts, theory of operation, details, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Facilitate the transition of designs to full production and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with an emphasis on digital design.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in digital design.
  • Experience with hardware circuit board design of digital assemblies including FPGAs and DRAM.
  • Experience with circuit analysis and design, CAD schematic tools, circuit simulation tools, and design evaluation.
  • Ability to evaluate alternative circuit approaches and develop robust designs.
  • Self-motivated, quick-learner with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and dedication to quality.
  • Ability to work across teams and cultures.
  • Desire to work on-site in Santa Rosa, California.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in programming and simulating Verilog or VHDL designs in FPGAs.
  • Experience in firmware or software development.
  • Knowledge of communication systems, including architectural tradeoffs and partitioning impacts.
  • Experience with Mentor or similar design tools including schematic capture and layout.
  • Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP).
