About the position

As a Digital Hardware Engineer in our Wireless Hardware group, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing wireless connectivity. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and verify baseband systems for all mobile Apple products. This position requires a deep understanding of computer system architecture and digital design, as you will be working on innovative system-on-chip designs that enhance product performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software, ultimately improving the user experience for our customers. Your work will involve bringing up and characterizing radio chipsets, focusing on both performance and power efficiency. You will design and execute comprehensive system-level test plans for cutting-edge silicon, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance. Debugging silicon issues and troubleshooting next-generation Apple products will be a critical part of your role, requiring a proactive and cooperative approach to problem-solving. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with external vendors to identify and resolve any silicon design issues that arise during development. This may involve developing integration and verification plans in partnership with chipset vendors. Additionally, the role may require some international travel to facilitate collaboration and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Bring-up and characterize (performance and power) radio chipsets.
  • Design and execute system-level test plans for cutting-edge silicon, ensuring peak performance.
  • Debug silicon issues and troubleshoot next-generation Apple products.
  • Collaborate across the board and with external vendors to uncover the root cause of any silicon design issues that pop up during development.
  • Work hand-in-hand with external chipset vendors to develop integration and verification plans.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with computer system architecture and digital design.
  • Experience in designing and executing system-level test plans.
  • Proven ability to debug silicon issues and troubleshoot hardware problems.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
