About the position

The Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) at Sweet Fish Media plays a crucial role in managing and processing digital media captured during filming. This position ensures that all media is handled according to high production standards, including color grading and data management. The DIT will work closely with directors and cinematographers to maintain visual quality and support the creative process.

Responsibilities

  • Offload, back up, and organize footage during shoots to ensure data integrity.
  • Apply color grades and ensure consistency across shots in collaboration with directors and cinematographers.
  • Ensure footage is properly exposed, color balanced, and aligned with creative objectives.
  • Optimize and maintain digital workflows from shoot to post-production.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and manage camera settings on set.
  • Collaborate with editors, cinematographers, and other creative team members to enhance visual storytelling.
  • Ensure all media is safely backed up and archived according to data management protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) or a similar role in media production.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital video formats, codecs, and workflows.
  • Expertise in using color grading software (e.g., DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of cinematography and post-production processes.
  • Familiarity with on-set production workflows and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with various camera systems (RED, Arri Alexa, Sony, BlackMagic, etc.).
  • A creative eye for color correction and image enhancement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for visual storytelling and a strong understanding of creative direction.
