About the position

The Digital Intelligence Sales Manager for Passenger Rail at Wabtec Corporation is responsible for driving business and sales growth within the Digital Electronics portfolio. This role involves engaging with customers in the transit, shortline, and commuter rail sectors to develop and implement effective sales strategies. The manager will serve as the primary interface with customers across North America, ensuring order targets are met and fostering strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer business models, desired outcomes, and pain points.
  • Lead business and sales growth for the Wabtec Digital Electronics product portfolio for specified accounts.
  • Build influential relationships at all levels of the customer's organization, including the C-suite.
  • Provide actionable customer feedback to development teams to align requirements with customer needs.
  • Lead customer satisfaction initiatives and ensure effective communication of customer needs.
  • Develop marketing, sales, and strategic business plans in partnership with the business units.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address customer needs and solve business problems.
  • Generate proposals and integrate technical support teams in customer strategy implementation.
  • Evaluate overall customer satisfaction and develop follow-through plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of commercial experience in the rail industry, preferably in Digital Electronics Solutions.
  • Technical or Business Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven business and sales skills with a successful growth track record.
  • Experience in consultative selling, particularly in complex projects and customer organizations.
  • Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of rail products, services, and industry technologies, especially rail signaling and communications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with stakeholder analysis and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage through changing business conditions.
  • Expertise in establishing value/price offers and product differentiation.
  • Knowledge of market segmentation and customer buying behavior.
  • Familiarity with the Challenger Sales Methodology.
