About the position

Cygnet Theatre is seeking a Digital Marketing and Advertising Specialist to join our team in San Diego, CA. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's advertising and digital marketing campaigns, as well as print collateral. The primary goal of this role is to increase brand awareness, engage with audiences, and drive ticket sales through creative and strategic marketing efforts. The Digital Marketing and Advertising Specialist will conduct market research to understand the target audience, analyze competitors' advertising strategies, and identify opportunities and threats in the market. This role will involve developing compelling campaign concepts and key messages that resonate with the target audience while ensuring consistency with the organization's brand identity and values. The specialist will define clear objectives for each advertising campaign, monitor spending to ensure campaigns stay within budget, and use analytics tools to track performance in real-time. In addition to advertising campaigns, the specialist will be responsible for email marketing, digital marketing, and managing the production of marketing and development print collateral. This includes updating the Cygnet Theatre's website with new content, utilizing SEO and SEM strategies, and managing digital advertising across various platforms. The role also requires strong organizational and project management abilities, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage advertising and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct market research to understand target audience preferences and behaviors.
  • Analyze competitors' advertising strategies and market trends.
  • Develop compelling campaign concepts and key messages that resonate with the target audience.
  • Define clear objectives for each advertising campaign and ensure they are measurable.
  • Monitor spending to ensure campaigns stay within budget and adjust allocations as needed.
  • Use analytics tools to track performance of advertising campaigns in real-time.
  • Analyze campaign data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct post-campaign evaluations to assess overall impact and effectiveness of advertising efforts.
  • Develop email campaigns to promote shows, events, and fundraising efforts.
  • Regularly update Cygnet Theatre's website with new content and ensure accuracy.
  • Utilize SEO and SEM strategies to increase online visibility.
  • Manage the production of marketing and development print collateral and promotional items.
  • Support the marketing team in the development of social media content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in media buying, advertising, or digital marketing.
  • Experience in the arts, entertainment, or cultural sectors is a plus.
  • Experience with digital advertising tools and platforms, including Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong creative abilities to develop engaging content and innovative advertising campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
