About the position

The CarolinaCard Office is seeking a student to work for the 2024-25 academic year as a Digital Marketing Content Creator, supporting the marketing team with various initiatives. This position is designed for students who are passionate about digital marketing and content creation, providing an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment while contributing to the university's marketing efforts. The role involves producing original and high-quality content tailored for social media, implementing creative strategies, and engaging with the audience to refine future content strategies. As a Digital Marketing Content Creator, you will be responsible for ensuring a harmonious content strategy across various social media platforms, maintaining brand consistency, and enhancing reach. You will create visually stunning photo and video content that resonates with the audience and aligns with the university's brand voice and values. This includes conceptualizing, shooting, editing, and distributing high-quality videos for use on digital platforms, including social media, websites, and other promotional materials. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, design, and digital operations, to ensure a seamless integration of visual content into broader campaigns. Staying informed about visual trends in photography and videography, industry updates, and content marketing best practices will be essential to incorporate fresh and innovative ideas into your work. You will also be responsible for executing photo and video productions featuring both internal employees and hired actors, using quality production gear and professional lighting and audio equipment. Additionally, you will maintain and organize visual media content libraries, design rudimentary graphics and animations that enhance media projects, and think critically about overall strategy, key messaging, and content design based on key markets and audiences. Being comfortable in front of the camera to interview fellow students for production needs is also a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Produce original and high-quality content tailored for social media.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to devise and enact a content strategy that aligns with the University's brand objectives.
  • Interact with followers and collect audience insights to refine future content strategies.
  • Ensure a harmonious content strategy across various social media platforms to maintain brand consistency and enhance reach.
  • Create visually stunning photo and video content that resonates with the audience and aligns with the brand voice and values.
  • Conceptualize, shoot, edit, and distribute high-quality videos for use on digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of visual content into broader campaigns.
  • Stay informed about visual trends and content marketing best practices to incorporate innovative ideas into visual content creation.
  • Execute photo and video productions featuring both internal employees and hired actors.
  • Shoot photo and video content using quality production gear and professional lighting and audio equipment.
  • Cast and direct a diverse range of models during conception and production.
  • Create prototypes and proof of concepts to validate video and photo ideas quickly.
  • Maintain and organize visual media content libraries.
  • Design rudimentary graphics/animations that enhance media projects and campaigns.
  • Think critically about overall strategy, key messaging, and content design based on key markets and audiences.
  • Be informed on University news and ongoing projects to ideate and introduce unique story concepts.

Requirements

  • Majoring or Minoring in Media Arts, Marketing, Mass Communications, Theatre, or Film and Media Studies.
  • Experience in Photoshop.
  • Fundamental understanding of marketing and social media platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in video editing in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, or on an iPhone.
