About the position

Kings Dominion is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator for the summer season to assist in creating engaging content for the park's digital marketing channels. This role will involve working with various platforms including the website, mobile app, and social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and X. The coordinator will be responsible for proactive photo and video content creation, utilizing multimedia equipment like GoPro and DSLR cameras to capture high-quality visuals that resonate with the park's audience. In addition to content creation, the coordinator will assist with various park initiatives, including in-park events, media events, and remote activations. This position will also involve designing social media graphics that align with the park's branding and marketing goals. The coordinator will support the Public Relations and Marketing teams by ensuring that all content and messaging are consistent with the park's objectives. Administrative support will also be a key component of this role, as the coordinator will help manage tasks and projects that contribute to the overall success of the marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys interacting with park guests and has a creative mindset, capable of adapting to feedback and new ideas. The role requires a balance of teamwork and independent work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the position may require extended evenings, weekends, and holiday availability throughout the operating season.

Responsibilities

  • Be proactive with photo and video content creation using various multimedia equipment such as GoPro and DSLR cameras.
  • Assist with park initiatives including in-park events, media events, and remote activations.
  • Assist with the design of social media graphics.
  • Support the park's Public Relations and Marketing initiatives by aligning content and messaging with PR and marketing goals.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing and Brand Management teams.
  • Accomplish all other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in vertical short-form video content creation such as TikTok or Instagram Reels.
  • Photography and videography skills, along with experience using GoPro and DSLR cameras.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with graphic design and the use of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
  • Portfolio of recent work is an asset, but not a requirement.
