About the position

The Digital Marketing Director at Adams Publishing Group is a pivotal role responsible for driving digital revenue sales goals and fostering the development of the local advertising sales team within the APG-East - Chesapeake region. This leadership position is integral to the Chesapeake Executive Committee and requires a high level of collaboration with department heads across the organization. The director will oversee the management of digital marketing solutions and services, focusing on daily business development and the cultivation of new revenue opportunities in the region. In this role, the Digital Marketing Director will coach and mentor Multimedia Account Executives (MMAEs) to maximize revenue opportunities related to various digital services. These services include Website Display, Programmatic Advertising, Search Engine Marketing (SEM/PPC), Targeted Email, Video, Connected TV (CTV-OTT), Social Media, E-Newsletters, and other emerging digital solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of current digital marketing tools and strategies, enabling them to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. The director will be expected to brainstorm innovative growth strategies while remaining attuned to emerging opportunities in the digital advertising landscape. A strong work ethic and proficiency in Google Suites for data collection are essential for success in this position. The Digital Marketing Director will be responsible for sales in the Chesapeake area and will have a shared reporting line to both the Regional President and the VP of Digital.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve digital revenue sales goals and mentor the local advertising sales team.
  • Manage digital marketing solutions and services for the Chesapeake region.
  • Coach and mentor Multimedia Account Executives to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Develop and project budgets for advertising.
  • Measure the effectiveness of various marketing campaigns using analytics tools.
  • Prospect and harvest new digital business, spending at least 50% of time in the field.
  • Train staff and create optimal solutions for area businesses, spending about 40% of time in the field with MMAEs.
  • Ensure accounts receive superior customer service, including campaign metrics and regular check-ins.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of current digital marketing tools and strategies.
  • Experience in leading integrated digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites for data collection and analytics.
  • Experience in managing digital advertising strategy from business, sales, and technical perspectives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with various digital advertising platforms and emerging technologies.
