About the position

The Digital Marketing Director at Tremco CPG Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing teams that execute digital and social campaigns and initiatives. This position is based in Vernon Hills, IL, and reports directly to the Executive VP of Rust-Oleum Corporation, a leader in protective paints and coatings. The director will collaborate closely with product management teams to develop effective digital and social media strategies that align with business objectives. A key aspect of this role involves analyzing the company's digital marketing plan and social media strategy to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements. In addition to strategic oversight, the Digital Marketing Director will research social media trends and inform management of relevant changes that could impact marketing activities. Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns is essential, as is measuring campaign performance against these KPIs. The director will also develop strategies and execute social media tactics for sponsorship programs and special events, ensuring alignment with business goals. This role requires close collaboration with the PR and advertising teams, as well as oversight of social media management across various platforms including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, being both empathetic and influential, capable of managing differences of opinion professionally. They should be able to think quickly and respond effectively during crises on social media, demonstrating versatility in management. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams executing digital and social campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product management teams to develop digital and social media strategies based on business objectives.
  • Analyze the company's digital marketing plan and social media strategy to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Research social media trends and inform management of relevant changes.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns and measure performance against these KPIs.
  • Develop strategy and execute social media tactics for sponsorship programs and special events.
  • Collaborate with PR and advertising teams.
  • Oversee social media management for all platforms including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Manage social customer care in coordination with Product Support.
  • Manage reporting tools for social listening, content performance, and inbound traffic.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 8+ years of social media experience in an agency or corporate environment (consumer goods experience preferred).
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with marketing staff and senior management.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent digital media research and outreach skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to recruit, hire, retain, and develop talent.
