About the position

The Digital Marketing Manager at UC Berkeley is responsible for identifying and implementing digital solutions across a diverse portfolio of programs, managing a budget exceeding $2 million in both B-to-B and B-to-C verticals. This role blends strategy, leadership, and creativity to run effective marketing campaigns, while also overseeing high-profile programs. The manager will work collaboratively with various teams to drive enrollments, revenue, and awareness for UC Berkeley Extension and UC Berkeley Global's initiatives, ultimately shaping the narrative of these brands as leaders in professional education.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, plans, produces, and evaluates marketing, advertising, and sales promotion materials to implement marketing strategies and sales objectives.
  • Utilizes product and brand campaigns on paid and social media to drive enrollments, revenue, awareness, leads, and hyper-growth across online communities.
  • Manages SEO (Search Engine Optimization) efforts as part of marketing strategies.
  • Identifies and implements digital solutions across a large portfolio of programs with a budget in excess of $2m.
  • Implements a blend of strategy, leadership, and creativity in running campaigns and overseeing high-profile programs.
  • Allocates budget resources according to the area of greatest business need or opportunity.
  • Creates, develops, implements, and manages comprehensive promotional sales strategies and plans.
  • Collaborates with creative services, recruitment & admissions advising, analytics/research, and web teams to meet strategic goals.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with outside companies and organizations.
  • Researches and recommends new and innovative methods for generating revenue.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in Google Analytics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing-related positions, with a solid understanding of Google Analytics and SEO.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication and client management skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with comfort in regularly reporting KPIs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge of the campus and/or medical center's product lines and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, techniques, and applications relevant to promotion and advertising.
  • Advanced skills in developing, designing, and implementing creative promotional and advertising strategies.
  • Experience in a non-profit or education environment.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as SEM Rush and Sitelmprove.
