About the position

The Digital Marketing Manager at the University of California, Davis, will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. This role is pivotal in developing and managing a comprehensive multimedia marketing and communications portfolio aimed at enhancing the visibility and appeal of graduate education at UC Davis. The Digital Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with deans, directors, and administrators to enrich the Graduate Studies brand through the design and implementation of outreach campaigns, social media initiatives, and digital communications that align with goals for graduate student recruitment, retention, and community-building. In this position, the Digital Marketing Manager will utilize a variety of web and non-web-based platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and content management systems like Drupal. They will also manage social media platforms using tools such as Hootsuite, and marketing platforms like MailChimp or Constant Contact. A key aspect of the role involves tracking, analyzing, and reporting on campaign performance using analytic tools, and working closely with the Executive Director to refine ongoing marketing strategies. The successful candidate will be expected to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals, serving as a marketing strategist and liaison to Graduate Studies staff and other stakeholders within the UC Davis community, including students, faculty, and alumni.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, maintain, and deliver web content and navigation/architecture systems (50%)
  • Design and implement an integrated social media and web strategy (30%)
  • Develop and manage graphic and written content (15%)
  • Other duties as assigned (5%)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, web development, or a related field
  • 5 years of work-related experience in digital marketing and communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and Canva
  • Experience with web production, management, accessibility, and SEO optimization
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and informative web resources
  • Knowledge of social media channels and digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and YouTube
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage leadership expectations
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse groups

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical skills in digital audio and video recording equipment
  • Experience with digital audio and video editing software
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Knowledge of campus web standards and editorial/content standards
  • Project management skills for multimedia or content production
