About the position

As a dedicated Digital Marketing Owned Channel Lead - SEO at USAA, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing digital strategies that support the organic search (SEO) efforts of the organization. This position is pivotal in maturing channel capabilities by creating and maintaining frameworks, strategies, playbooks, and processes that enable various cross-functional stakeholders to effectively engage with digital marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for developing training and education programs aimed at upskilling execution teams on SEO best practices, while also driving innovation for new channel opportunities. This role allows for remote work within the continental U.S., with occasional business travel required. In this position, you will lead the development and optimization of multiple, highly complex and critical digital or social marketing initiatives delivered through internet, mobile, and other emerging platforms. You will identify trends and insights that can bring new digital or social channels to market, collaborating with peers, enterprise partners, and senior management to align on the tactical and strategic direction for these channels. Your responsibilities will include communicating program, project, and campaign details through various reports and tools as required, serving as the primary resource for cross-functional team members on high-priority matters. You will apply your digital and social marketing subject matter expertise across multiple channels to influence digital campaign design, effectively directing social and/or digital agencies to ensure alignment with goals and prioritization. Additionally, you will utilize your expert understanding of tools and techniques to test and optimize performance against digital or social marketing objectives. Training and mentoring digital marketing managers will also be a key part of your role, as you lead cross-functional teams to deliver new landing pages and optimize user experience. You will develop digital channel performance plans and monitor key online marketing metrics to track success, ensuring that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and optimization of multiple, highly complex and/or critical digital or social marketing initiatives delivered via internet, mobile, and any other emerging platforms.
  • Identifies trends and insights to bring new digital or social channels to market.
  • Leads collaboration with peers, enterprise partners, and senior management to gain alignment on the tactical and strategic direction for digital/social channels.
  • Responsible for communication of program, project, and/or campaign through various reports/tools as required.
  • Serves as the primary resource for cross-functional team members on high-priority matters of a unique nature.
  • Applies digital and social marketing subject matter expertise across multiple channels to influence digital campaign design.

  • Applies an expert understanding of tools/techniques to test and optimize performance against digital or social marketing objectives.
  • Trains and mentors digital marketing managers.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to deliver new landing pages and optimize user experience.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 8 years of experience in a marketing, sales, advertising and/or communications function, including at least 4 years in social marketing, website merchandising, search marketing, mobile marketing, or digital campaign management.
  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of digital or social marketing industry and practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in influencing business decisions and success in leading, influencing, motivating, and collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills; able to present to all levels of leadership.
  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading SEO channel strategy for large enterprise or brand, preferably managing multiple verticals and product lines.
  • Knowledge of cohesive Search program and how Paid Search and Organic influence and impact one another, preferably experience managing paid search accounts.
  • Experience developing and managing long-term content roadmap.
  • Expert knowledge of SEO channel, organic ranking factors, search engine algorithms, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Experience developing organic search training and education frameworks to improve organizational knowledge and maturity.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and framework.
  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
