About the position

The Digital Marketing Manager at GMO plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's digital marketing strategy across various channels. This position is designed for a dynamic individual who can act as both a leader and a mentor, guiding the digital marketing team while also being hands-on in campaign execution. The manager will be responsible for planning and implementing digital marketing campaigns that encompass web, SEO/SEM, email, and social media, ensuring that all efforts align with GMO's overarching business goals. In this role, the Digital Marketing Manager will maintain and enhance the company's social media presence, manage budget expenditures, and track the performance of all digital marketing initiatives. A key aspect of the position involves collaborating with various internal teams, including Product Development, Technology, Global Client Service, and Investment Teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure a cohesive approach to digital marketing that reinforces GMO's reputation for delivering superior investment performance and advice. The manager will also be tasked with measuring and reporting on campaign performance, identifying trends and insights to optimize marketing spend, and brainstorming innovative growth strategies. This position requires a strong analytical mindset to evaluate customer experiences across multiple channels and touchpoints, as well as the ability to communicate the impact of digital marketing initiatives on business growth and client retention effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns
  • Design, build, and maintain our social media presence, ensuring consistent brand messaging and positioning
  • Collaborate closely with GMO's legal and compliance teams to ensure all digital marketing adheres to regulatory guidelines
  • Measure and report the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights and optimize spend and performance based on those insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touchpoints
  • Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, providing thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Contributing to projects to advance the strategic objectives of GMO's Marketing and Client Services team
  • Communicate the impact of digital marketing initiatives on business growth and client retention.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • 7+ years proven working experience in digital marketing
  • Asset Management experience required
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Experience with Salesforce, Seismic, Optimizely, Hootsuite, Cvent, and On24 is a plus
