About the position

The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) at KTVN 2 News is a pivotal role designed to drive the station's digital revenue through effective sales strategies and collaboration with the broadcast team. This position requires an energetic and fast-paced individual who is not only accountable for selling digital assets and services but also for developing and cultivating new and existing leads. The DMS will engage in various sales activities, including cold calls, telephone prospecting, and responding to requests for proposals, all aimed at expanding the station's digital footprint. In this role, the DMS will inspire and motivate the sales team through clear and constant communication, fostering a culture of teamwork. A strong understanding of digital products is essential, as the DMS will need to articulate the logistics and functionality of various digital marketing strategies, including Social Media, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Email Marketing, and Website Design. The DMS will be responsible for generating sales proposals, prospecting new digital accounts, and achieving both personal and station digital budget goals. The position also involves developing account strategies to enhance current client revenue while simultaneously pursuing new business opportunities. Regular feedback, forecasts, reports, and competitive intelligence will be crucial for success in this role. The DMS will take the lead in creating and packaging marketing ideas tailored to meet the needs of core advertiser categories, ensuring optimal market coverage and client engagement. Additionally, the DMS will manage digital vendor relationships and collaborate with accounting to address billing and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Sell digital assets, services, and strategies individually and with the broadcast team.
  • Generate sales proposals and conduct sales calls with TV/Radio Account Executives (AEs).
  • Prospect new digital accounts to expand the client base.
  • Achieve personal and station digital budget and goals.
  • Develop account strategies to grow current client revenue and acquire new business.
  • Provide regular feedback, forecasts, reports, and competitive information.
  • Create and package marketing ideas that meet advertiser needs.
  • Lead digital display, SEM, SEO, Mobile, CTV/OTT, and Social Media sales strategies.
  • Ensure optimal market coverage and increase awareness of products and services.
  • Identify strategies for penetrating key accounts and prospects.
  • Manage digital vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with accounting and Director of Sales (DOS) to reconcile billing and operational needs.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of sales experience in online media, including Internet ad sales and online marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience working with TV/Radio stations or other media is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-media ROI-based creative marketing solutions.
  • Experience with streaming media technology and knowledge of ad networks is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proven record of leading in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
