About the position

The Digital Marketing Services Specialist at Brown University will play a crucial role in creating and managing digital advertising campaigns aimed at recruiting research participants for various studies. This position is designed for a creative and analytical individual who possesses a strong background in internet marketing, particularly in social media marketing, digital advertising, and analytics. The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing effective digital marketing strategies, as well as compiling, analyzing, and communicating performance data from these campaigns. The role requires excellent project management skills, including the ability to attract new clients, assess their needs, estimate costs and timelines for engagements, and track project expenses. Additionally, strong content development skills, including graphic and web design, are highly preferred. The major responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Services Specialist include designing and implementing digital marketing campaigns to recruit participants for open research studies, establishing and maintaining processes for managing projects that engage the core services, and engaging in activities to attract new clients to utilize these services. The position is expected to allocate approximately 60% of its time to campaign design and implementation, 30% to project management, and 10% to client engagement activities. The specialist will also be responsible for managing budgets and expenditures for each campaign, providing regular financial reports, and ensuring a seamless user experience from advertisement to study enrollment. This role is essential for improving overall recruitment performance and requires a commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement digital marketing campaigns to recruit new participants into open research studies.
  • Establish and maintain processes for effectively managing projects that engage the core for services.
  • Engage in activities to attract new clients to use the Core's services.
  • Perform analyses of digital campaign performance, including determining the campaign's cost-per-lead and conversion rates.
  • Report on performance data to stakeholders and teams on a regular basis and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage budget and spending for each campaign and team, providing regular financial reports.
  • Create landing and other web pages to ensure a seamless user experience from advertisement to study enrollment.
  • Work to improve overall recruitment performance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in content generation, graphic design, and web design.
  • 3-5 years experience in social media management, outreach, and communication.
  • Front-end web development skills (CSS/HTML) are strongly preferred or high motivation to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently is required.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with search engine marketing and online reputation management.
  • Knowledge of display marketing and social marketing best practices.
