About the position

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team located in Newark, New Jersey. This role is within the higher education industry and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing a comprehensive digital strategy, which includes email, web, social media, and digital advertising. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our digital presence and engaging with our alumni community effectively. In this position, you will design, schedule, and deploy various digital communications, including newsletters, invitations, and other digital engagement and giving solicitations. You will serve as the webmaster for the Development and Alumni Relations website, ensuring that the content is engaging, user-friendly, and well-organized. Additionally, you will execute digital advertising strategies aimed at boosting alumni engagement and giving efforts. Managing social media accounts will also be a key responsibility, where you will regularly update with fresh, engaging content and actively engage with followers. You will support digital-first annual giving campaigns such as Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday, maintain and pull segmented lists for targeted digital communications, and utilize various software tools for content creation and management. Leveraging analytics tools to measure and improve the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts will be essential, as will collaborating with the team in planning and executing fundraising campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Design, schedule, and deploy various digital communications including newsletters, invitations, and other digital engagement and giving solicitations.
  • Serve as a webmaster for the Development and Alumni Relations website, ensuring the content is engaging, user-friendly, and well-organized.
  • Execute digital advertising strategies for alumni engagement and giving efforts.
  • Manage social media accounts, regularly updating with fresh, engaging content and actively engaging with followers.
  • Support digital-first annual giving campaigns such as Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday.
  • Maintain and pull segmented lists for targeted digital communications.
  • Utilize various software including Adobe Creative Cloud, Database, Drupal, and other tools for content creation and management.
  • Leverage analytics tools to measure and improve the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the team in planning and executing fundraising campaigns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Digital Marketing role within the Higher Education industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Demonstrated ability in Database Management.
  • Experience creating, implementing and evaluating Advertisements.
  • Strong understanding of Analytics and ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Proven experience with Blogging and Brand Awareness activities.
  • Prior experience with Campaign Planning and execution.
  • Capability in Graphic Design and creation of Digital Collateral.
  • Experience in planning and executing Email Campaigns, including Email Communications and Email Copywriting.
  • Proficient in Content Creation and Content Management.
  • Experience with Website Updates and ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant.
  • Ability to create engaging Social Media Content.
  • Familiarity with Drupal or similar Content Management Systems.
  • Proven track record in Fundraising and managing Fundraising campaigns.
