About the position

The Digital Marketing Specialist position at Disney Entertainment Studios is a pivotal role within the Disney Entertainment Brand & Editorial Team, which is responsible for overseeing social programming and engagement across various Disney platforms. This role is integral to the development, strategy, planning, publishing, and operations for key Disney brands such as @Disney, @MickeyMouse, @MinnieMouse, @TheMuppets, @DisneyPrincesses, and Disney.com. The position requires a creative and experienced individual who can manage the day-to-day programming of social content, ensuring that it aligns with the brand's voice and engages the audience effectively. The role also involves collaborating with team strategists and coordinators to propose copy and creative ideas that resonate with the target audience while adhering to brand standards. In addition to content creation, the Digital Marketing Specialist will stay updated on digital trends and platform updates to inform strategy and execution. The role includes assisting with live content coverage for events, managing community engagement efforts, and identifying user-generated content opportunities. Asset management is another critical aspect of the job, requiring the specialist to route all assets for internal approvals and ensure that final content is delivered on time and meets business standards. Collaboration with internal and external teams throughout the content development lifecycle is essential for amplifying and supporting priorities across Disney's channels. This position is expected to contribute to the overall marketing strategy by leveraging insights from community engagement and digital analytics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for Disney's rich content library, including movies, series, and characters. The role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day programming of social content across all platforms, including tagging for reporting, calendar maintenance, and asset management.
  • Propose copy and creative in collaboration with social and digital leadership that aligns with brand voice and campaign positioning.
  • Ideate new social concepts to engage and entertain digital audiences, leveraging brand-safe trends.
  • Stay abreast of digital trends and platform updates to inform strategy and execution.
  • Assist with live content coverage and execution for talent press junkets, content shoots, and marketing events as needed.
  • Review and draft copy tied to community engagement efforts across platforms.
  • Identify and pursue user-generated content opportunities with the support of Managers.
  • Partner with vendors to source engagement and user-generated content opportunities.
  • Route all assets to necessary stakeholders for internal approvals and communicate feedback to ensure content meets business standards.
  • Deliver all final approved assets and copy to relevant partners while ensuring publishing timing and tagging aligns with marketing plans and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams throughout the content development lifecycle, from strategy to final execution and delivery of approved assets across all channels.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years social media or community management experience within consumer-facing media or global brand.
  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, or relevant field, or 2+ years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Disney brand and content.
  • Familiarity with Disney+ platform.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate traditional marketing content into engaging conversations.
  • Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking.
  • Superior knowledge of social platforms and their native products.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
  • Polished presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to challenges and use data to drive content development decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with CRM tools such as AirTable, Smartsheets, and/or Zendesk.
  • Experience in Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides.
  • Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services.
  • Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations.
