The Digital Marketing Specialist at Insight Housing plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization's digital marketing efforts. This position involves scheduling and managing content across various digital platforms while tracking relevant analytics to enhance the effectiveness of multi-channel campaigns. The specialist will work closely with the Philanthropy team to promote the organization's mission of providing housing and support services to those in need, particularly focusing on branding, messaging, and fundraising initiatives. In this role, the Digital Marketing Specialist will actively manage the organization's social media accounts, ensuring that the content remains current and relevant to the target audience. This includes applying knowledge of social media trends and algorithms to increase engagement and responsiveness to calls-to-action. The specialist will also be responsible for tracking social media metrics and linking their analyses to the goals of the philanthropy team. Content creation is another key responsibility, where the specialist will collaborate with program staff to gather stories and successes from program participants. This involves coordinating with photographers and videographers to build a comprehensive content library and implementing a digital asset management system. The position also entails executing email marketing campaigns with a focus on visual design, monitoring analytics to improve open rates and subscriber numbers, and proactively updating the organization's website with relevant news and events. Additionally, the specialist will implement a basic digital advertising strategy and maintain reports to assess the effectiveness of these efforts. Overall, the Digital Marketing Specialist will assist with graphic design for various marketing materials, manage vendor contracts, and ensure compliance with agency policies while promoting a safe and healthy work environment. This role requires a commitment to the mission of Insight Housing and a dedication to serving individuals experiencing homelessness and related challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage the organization's social media accounts, ensuring content is current and relevant to Insight Housing audiences.
  • Apply knowledge about current events and social media platform algorithms and trends to increase responsiveness toward calls-to-action.
  • Track social media metrics and link their analyses to philanthropy team goals.
  • Work with program staff to gather day-to-day stories and successes from program participants and staff.
  • Coordinate sessions with photographers, videographers, and staff to build the content library.
  • Implement a digital asset management system.
  • Execute email marketing campaigns with a focus on visual design.
  • Implement strategies to increase open rates and number of subscribers.
  • Monitor analytics and make iterative improvements.
  • Proactively update the website with organizational news, events, job postings, photos, and other relevant content.
  • Manage website pop-ups and calls-to-action to align with organizational and philanthropic goals.
  • Measure web analytics to optimize content, traffic and site performance.
  • Implement a basic and cost-effective digital advertising strategy.
  • Maintain a monthly report to assess effectiveness of paid advertising efforts.
  • Assist with the graphic design and review of direct mail, annual reports, and other philanthropy team marketing collateral.
  • Manage marketing and communications vendor contracts.
  • Drive own or agency vehicle to various sites as required; documenting and reporting mileage according to agency procedures.
  • Participate in promoting a safe, healthy, and clean working environment consistent with agency's health and safety practices.
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Complete and submit timesheets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work within the framework of Insight Housing's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in digital marketing or a related field.
  • Commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness, alcohol and drug dependency, and other mental health issues and to trauma-informed approach to care of individuals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Expertise in HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta products.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
  • Ability to interact in a supportive and professional manner with staff and clients of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide good customer service.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a can-do and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, multitask, maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries, and meet deadlines.
