About the position

The Digital Marketing Specialist at Oakland Ballers is responsible for executing marketing strategies to enhance ticket, merchandise, and food sales while building brand awareness and acquiring new customers. This full-time, hybrid role requires collaboration with various teams to manage digital marketing efforts, including email marketing, paid media, and audience targeting, particularly during the baseball season.

Responsibilities

  • Using marketing to increase ticket, merchandise, and food sales.
  • Executing marketing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Writing marketing copy.
  • Constructing audience targeting queries.
  • Managing all aspects of email marketing.
  • Exporting and importing data between systems and monitoring automated integrations.
  • Maintaining a healthy email list with high open rates.
  • Managing paid media spends and execution in various digital platforms.
  • Executing SMS/Email blasts and A/B testing of variables.
  • Updating website content and managing the Digital Asset Management system.
  • Organizing photos from other teams and ensuring proper tagging and analytics best practices are followed.
  • Working with contractors to achieve marketing and sales goals.
  • Assisting in direct-mail efforts and optimizing images for various platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Brand Management, Communications, Graphic Design, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience segmenting/targeting audiences for marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing systems that use audience targeting.
  • Ability to hand-code basic HTML.
  • Experience using website content management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with social media metrics.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in copywriting for marketing.
  • Experience with graphic design programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or Figma.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning new software and skills.
  • Experience using Google Sheets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience using social media planning/scheduling platforms.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video.
  • Experience working in sports.
  • Understanding of the cultural landscape of Oakland and sports in Oakland.
