About the position

The Communication & Marketing department within The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is seeking candidates for the position of Digital Marketing Specialist. This role will serve the college's online recruitment efforts, as well as assist and enhance the entirety of the college's digital communication and marketing efforts. This includes on-campus undergraduate and graduate recruiting, development solicitation, corporate relations, research partnerships, underrepresented recruiting, and much more. The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) leads the development, maintenance, and analysis of data sent through marketing channels and third-party applications/add-ons for the college to support its strategic communication and marketing goals. The DMS works with academic units and teams to support the CRM (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and coordinates strategy and optimization aligned with marketing efforts designed to support faculty, staff, and student recruitment, recognition, development, and engagement. The DMS aids units in the transition from traditional communication approaches and protocols to Marketing Cloud and is responsible for building, maintaining, and continually improving the use of the CRM platform to support communication and engagement with diverse stakeholder groups. Additionally, the DMS coordinates the development of creative strategies and content and works closely with the Salesforce CRM team to ensure platforms are well integrated, as those internal staff users of the platform are trained for success. Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, maintenance, and analysis of data sent through marketing channels and third-party applications/add-ons for the college.
  • Works with academic units and teams to support the CRM (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and coordinates strategy and optimization aligned with marketing efforts.
  • Aids units in the transition from traditional communication approaches to Marketing Cloud.
  • Responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the use of the CRM platform to support communication and engagement with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinates the development of creative strategies and content and works closely with the Salesforce CRM team to ensure platform integration.
  • Provides overall platform support of Marketing Cloud for the college and builds, maintains, and improves Marketing Cloud user journeys.
  • Supports Auburn's CRM system development and implementation by training and educating new users.
  • Provides coordination to develop creative strategies and content for strategic projects on behalf of the college's units.
  • Manages and operates the college's social media accounts and paid marketing campaigns.
  • Enhances the college's visibility and reputation through search engine optimization and marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Marketing, Data Management, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in marketing and communications services.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and email marketing best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and project management skills.
  • Writing and editing skills for various media (including digital, media, social).
  • Experience developing content for digital platforms and integrated marketing communication skills.
  • Experience with Google AdWords, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification is desired.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, AmpScript, JSON, and JavaScript is highly preferred.
