About the position

The Digital Marketing Specialist at Anderson County Government is responsible for enhancing brand awareness and boosting tourism's economic impact through the execution of various online marketing campaigns. This role involves optimizing SEO/SEM, managing social media content, placing digital advertisements, analyzing data metrics, and creating engaging content to promote Anderson County's tourism assets effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director of Tourism with researching, analyzing, translating, and evaluating tourism data, trends, and issues to create marketing plans.
• Assist in content creation for website landing pages, blogs, social posts, reels, and videos.
• Execute digital marketing strategies including SEO, SEM, Google AdWords, YouTube Advertisements, Geo-fencing Advertisements, Social Media Advertisements, and Email Marketing Campaigns.
• Create and monitor social media posts and engage with account interactions.
• Measure and report the performance of digital marketing campaigns and website performance through Google Analytics.
• Maintain information on tourism entities in Anderson County, including facility information and advertising efforts.
• Promote outdoor attractions through vendor booths at trade shows and participate in business-to-business trade shows.
• Attend and represent the tourism council at various meetings and conferences.
• Assist in managing events that attract visitors and participate in special projects related to tourism.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
• Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising engaging digital campaigns.
• Proficient in market research and statistical analysis, including Google Analytics.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Platform, Canva, MailChimp, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
• Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on major search engines.
• Working knowledge of WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
• Willingness to travel and work occasional nights and weekends.
