About the position

Southeast Missouri State University's Marketing & Communications department is seeking a skilled Digital Marketing Strategist. The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for the planning, content creation, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns across SEMO's digital advertising platforms. This role involves collaborating with a dynamic Marketing & Communications team on both creative and analytics to positively affect the achievement of SEMO's strategic and enrollment goals. The strategist will create and execute a digital advertisement marketing strategy that aligns with the University's brand and strategic goals, ensuring that all campaigns are effective and meet the desired outcomes. In this position, the Digital Marketing Strategist will manage and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns, including social media, search engine marketing (SEM), and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. The strategist will monitor and communicate performance against effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of ad campaigns, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on the effectiveness of those efforts to maximize results, meet key performance indicators (KPIs), and make data-driven recommendations to improve ad performance. Staying knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices for digital advertising is crucial, as the strategist will work with the in-house creative team to create high-converting images and video content, keeping clients informed on digital advertising changes and trends. Additionally, the Digital Marketing Strategist will provide direct response copywriting for ads and landing pages, ensuring a seamless user journey that achieves conversions. The role also involves creating landing pages that implement effective SEO strategies to increase traffic and improve search engine rankings. Enthusiastic collaboration with team members is essential to achieve University goals, create effective campaigns, and elevate the SEMO brand.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a digital advertisement marketing strategy that aligns with University's brand and strategic goals
  • Manage and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns including social, SEM and PPC to ensure lead generation and efficient pacing of budget
  • Monitor and communicate performance against effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of ad campaigns
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of ad campaigns to maximize results and meet KPIs
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve ad performance
  • Remain knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices for digital advertising
  • Work with in-house creative team to create high converting images and video creative

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising or related field
  • Demonstrated experience creating content and managing digital ad accounts
  • In-depth knowledge of ad platforms, best practices, trends, and engagement strategies
  • Experience creating and placing successful digital ad campaigns
  • Experience with online measurement and assessment platforms such as Google Analytics and social media insights
  • Demonstrated experience with tracking, analyzing and reporting on the effectiveness of a digital advertising plan
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver projects
  • Strong written, communications, and interpersonal skills
