About the position

The Student Content Specialist - Digital Marketing role at Grand Canyon University (GCU) is designed for students to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing by creating and managing content for the university's website and blogs. This position allows students to develop their writing, editing, and project management skills while contributing to the digital marketing team's efforts to drive leads and enhance online presence.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, optimize, organize and schedule new and existing blog content
  • Write, edit and optimize event listings on events.gcu.edu
  • Write, edit and optimize website content updates
  • Project management
  • Utilize the content management system (CMS) to post content on gcu.edu
  • Act as the liaison between marketing and the colleges for all blog projects
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with CMS and project management programs preferred
  • Knowledge of SEO preferred
  • Students pursuing an education in marketing, web development, SEO, writing or project management preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-paced work environment and complete tasks timely and accurately
  • Interest in writing about academia, specifically GCU's colleges and degree programs

  • Knowledge of SEO
