About the position

The Digital Mastering Specialist is responsible for performing technical evaluations of Daily Show projects and creating digital masters for broadcast distribution. This role involves correcting project anomalies, transcoding media to meet specific broadcast standards, and ensuring quality assurance for all digital media materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Daily Show projects for master exports by transcoding media to correct formats and frame rates.
• Perform daily file conversion and transcoding of digital media for the Daily Show.
• Produce DVD formats for dubbing and local/remote viewing, ensuring compliance with subtitle and closed captioning requirements.
• Operate automation and renaming software according to project formatting policies.
• Conduct quality assurance tests on transcoded files to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Create and maintain folder structures on Central Storage following established procedures.
• Stay updated on industry standards and research automation improvements for workflows.
• Generate and edit SOP/workflow charts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must sign the Statement of Faith.
• Knowledge of the Gospel Truth and Daily TV program preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Charis Bible College student or graduate preferred.
• 1+ years of television broadcast experience in digital post-production preferred.
• Experience in broadcast traffic operations or computer science/information technology desirable.
• Experience in computer programming and software automation desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of scripting languages and automation software.
• Experience with media management systems and post-production processes.
• Familiarity with digital delivery systems such as FTP servers, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
• Experience with transcoding, encoding, and editing software, especially Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, Encore, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
